Politics, O Politics.

Politics, O Politics.
I thought I would get some relief after the Elections back in November. I was so relieved when the whole circus was over, cause it was sort of sad to me how negative everything was, how everything was so bad.

One thing that stuck out to me was the over and over saying of , "Barack Obama: America's First Black President."

Hear me out. I didn't care one way or another which one of the two candidates one. I voted soul on which one I thought would best fight for what I believed was important.

But that reoccurring statement stuck with me.

Did Obama win the presidency simply because of his skin? I mean, is that how pitiful our country has become. Is it bad that I'm white and love Earth Wind and Fire? Does our culture have fences and boundaries that only people of certain races and genders can cross?

And what's this change?

Nothing has changed. MLK said it on the Lincoln Memorial, "I have a dream that one day my four children will one day not be judged by the color of their skin but by the CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER."

Seems to me Mr. Obama didn't get that latter judge. Yes, he is black, but, he is also white. And, putting color aside, he, like you and me, has a soul.

Is this really all we have to say about this man? Can't we find something better?
